Baseball Divisions of Play
3/4 - Tee-Ball Baseball
The 3/4 Baseball division is for boys and girls 3-4 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In 3/4 baseball division, players will have the opportunity a 3 pitches from the coach and then the opportunity to hit a ball off a batting tee. Rules of the game are designed to accommodate the need for teaching. As a Non-Competitive Division composed of 1 head coach, 3 assistant coaches and 12 players, the primary goals of 3/4 baseball division are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball, to allow them to experience the value of teamwork and give them the opportunity to play baseball with their friends.
5/6 - Coach Pitch Baseball
The 5/6 Baseball division is for boys and girls 5-6 years old who are moving toward to hitting from a pitched ball as well as still learning the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In the 5/6 baseball division, players will hit strictly from pitched balls from coaches. The primary goals of the 5/6 baseball division is to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball, to allow them to experience the value of teamwork and give them the opportunity to play baseball with their friends. Each team is composed of 1 head coach, 3 assistant coaches, and a max of 12 players. Rules of the game are enforced by the sanction of TYBA.
7/8 - Coach Pitch Baseball
The 7/8 Baseball division is for boys and girls 7-8 years old who are continuing to hit from a pitched ball as well as still learning the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In the 7-8 baseball division, players will hit strictly from pitched balls from coaches. The primary goals of the 7-8 baseball division is to build on the fundamentals of baseball, learn baseball situations, and allow them to experience the value of teamwork and give them the opportunity to play baseball with their friends. Each team is composed of 1 head coach, 3 assistant coaches, and a max of 12 players on the roster. 10 players are allowed in the field. Rules of the game are enforced by the sanction of TYBA.
9/10 - Player Pitch Baseball
The 9/10 Baseball division is for boys and girls 9-10 years old who are continuing to develop their abilities in a competitive baseball environment. In the 9/10 division, the players are exposed to "kid pitch." As a Competitive Division, the primary goals of 9/10 Baseball are to create a fair and balanced competition throughout the division, provide an environment for team and individual skills development. Each team is composed of 1 head coach, 2 assistant coaches, and a max of 12 players on the roster. 9 players are allowed in the field. Rules of the game are enforced by the sanction of TYBA.
11/12 - Player Pitch Baseball
The 11/12 Baseball division is for boys and girls 11-12 years old who are refining all the skills they have been building up in the 9/10 divisions in this next stage of competitive baseball. As a Competitive Division, the primary goals of 11/12 Baseball are to create a fair and balanced competition throughout the division, provide an environment for individual skills development and stage the players for much higher levels of play. Each team is composed of 1 head coach, 2 assistant coaches, and a max of 12 players. 9 players max in allowed in the field. Rules of the game are enforced by the sanction of TYBA.
